When to Visit Antalya: A Season-by-Season Guide

Antalya is a genuine year-round destination, which is part of its appeal — but the experience changes a lot depending on when you go. A July beach holiday, a spring sightseeing trip and a mild winter break are three very different visits. Here is a season-by-season guide to help you match your trip to what you want, from the weather and sea to the crowds and prices.

Spring is many people's favourite time. The days are warm and pleasant rather than scorching, the countryside is green and flowering, and the ancient sites are comfortable to explore without summer's heat or crowds. Antalya's winter is mild by European standards — cooler and with some rain, not beach weather, but very pleasant for walking, sightseeing and city breaks, and much quieter and cheaper. It is also when the region reveals a hidden side: snow in the nearby Taurus mountains, with skiing within a couple of hours, so you can pair a mild coast with a mountain day. It suits culture-focused trips and travellers who prefer calm over crowds.
