Sunrise Photography Tour

For about forty minutes after the sun clears the Taurus foothills, Antalya photographs better than at any other hour. The light is low and directional, the Beydağları range across the gulf turns pink before anything on this side warms up, and the streets are empty enough to shoot without waiting for people to move.

• Kaleiçi harbour — the horseshoe of moored gulets under the Ottoman houses, best while the water is still glassy
• The Falez cliffs and Hıdırlık Tower — hard edges and long shadows along the clifftop park above the sea
• Lower Düden waterfall — the only fall here that drops straight off a cliff into the Mediterranean, and it needs early light to keep the spray from blowing out
• Konyaaltı beach — for the mountains across the bay, still blue and hazy while the foreground picks up colour

This is a private tour, so it moves at your pace and the route is yours to shape. If you shoot long exposures, the blue hour before the sun appears is the part worth protecting. If you are working with a phone, the twenty minutes after sunrise are far more forgiving. Your driver-guide knows which viewpoints face which way, which matters when you get one attempt at the light.

Timing shifts through the year — sunrise in Antalya moves by well over an hour between June and December — so the departure is set against the actual sunrise on your date and confirmed when you book.

A tripod earns its place during blue hour and at the waterfall. Bring a lens cloth, because the cliff viewpoints catch spray and morning humidity. Warm layers help in spring and autumn, when the sea breeze bites harder than the daytime temperature suggests.

Hotel pickup and return, an air-conditioned Mercedes, bottled water and lunch at a local restaurant are included, so the day does not have to end when the good light does.
